Two NASCAR Wannabes, Larry (Peter Fonda) and his mechanic Deke (Adam Roarke) try to finance their dream of entering the big time racing curcuit by holding supermarkets Managers (Roddy McDowall) wife and daughter hostage in exchange for $150,000.00. After getting the money as planned, Larry and Deke start to leave, but, are delayed by Larry’s love interest Mary (Susan George) from the night before. Mary wants out of town and threatens to turn Larry and Deke over to the law if they don’t take her with them.
