A Professional Robber, Porter (Mel Gibson) sets up a heist with his wife and a wanna be Mobster, Val Resnick (Gregg Henry). During the split Porter gets double crossed and left for dead. Porter then has to recouperate, find an old flame and take revenge. Along the way Val finds out Porter is still alive and sets his new found pals in the Mob on Porter. Val also exploits his relationship with an Oriental Hooker (Lucy Liu) to let the gang that he and Porter robbed know where Porter is. As a result of bull rushing people for information Porter also draws the attention of some corrupt police, who want a cut of the money he is trying to get back. Porter has to hold off all the groups while trying to get the money he feels he is owed as his cut of the original heist.
