Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) is living the yuppie American Dream. He has a beautiful girlfriend, great job, lots of friends, belongs to all the right clubs but something is brewing beneath the showy exterior. Homicidal tendencies flare when Patrick realizes that no matter what he does, he is just another face in a suit to everyone around him, to those closest to him. As the movie progresses onward his bloodlust grows and the murders become more rampant and random - to the point where he realizes that he has become a psychopath. At his breaking point, he confesses for redemption and punishment and release from the guilt and he realizes that all of it was in his mind and that he may really be as crazy as the world around him.
